New Book Trailer Released!

Published November 11, 2014 by Ashley Townsend

I’m super excited to announce that not only have I launched an official website for “Chasing Shadows,” which I mentioned in my previous post, but the book trailers for both “Chasing Shadows” and it’s adorable predecessor “Rising Shadows” just came out. *Squeal of delight* I’d love for you to view, like, share, subscribe, or leave a comment to support the series. ^_^

You can find the trailers on YouTube via Double Decker Books, on the official “Chasing Shadows” launch page, and all over Goodreads! As always, don’t forget to add the books on Goodreads and find them on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Thanks, all, for your support of this series and my endeavors to reach as many people as possible with characters that I believe God is going to use to encourage and touch the lives of many. These characters have already changed my life! And if you have any stories about how reading has impacted your own life in some way, please write to me at ashleytownsend.author@yahoo.com

New Interviews Just Released

Published October 21, 2014 by Ashley Townsend

A couple new interviews have just been released, one with Double Decker Books and the other with Ink Spell Reviews. I loved answering the My Top 10 Fiction Crushes questions from Ink Spell. I’m a fangirl, so that’s one of the most complicated questions to answer, but I love a challenge! Check them out, like, and share around.

Also, my Between the Pages post will still be up Friday this week, but I’ll be on vacation all of next week and so I won’t have a regular post on Halloween night, the 31st. Because, you know, I’ll be on a vacation. I’m very happy about this fact. ^_^

SPEAKING of which. For those of you with an Instagram, or if you don’t have an account and have fingers for searching and scrolling, be sure to follow my sister’s Instagram before this weekend. We’ll be turning it into a promotional page for “Chasing Shadows.” My copies of the book are coming today! Gah! Suffering from excruciating joy!

Anyway, I’m taking a couple copies along with me on vacation for all sorts of nonsense. He might (yes, my books are male, like my future fiction husband Will Taylor from “Chasing Shadows”!) go hipster and sip local coffee in a cafe with a pipe and typewriter, use bathroom stalls for making cupcakes, take selfies with tourists, fly off into the sunset, etc. You never know what can happen in the fiction world! So, like I said, follow d_jeans86 on Instagram, and keep an eye out this weekend and all next week for the wacky wonders that we’ll be posting on there.

Last order(s) of business.

The 2014 Gold Rush author event at Barnes and Noble with Livia Blackburne, Stephanie Diaz, Bethany Crandell, Tracy Holczer, and Maria Andreu was, in a word: THE-MOST-SPECTACULAR-EVENT-IN-THE-HISTORY-OF-READING-AND-WRITING. Yes, just one word. There was a great turnout, and the authors were hilarious and amazing and took so much time to answer our questions (I asked several-haha). Afterwards, I picked up a copy of Stephanie’s book “Extraction” to have her sign it, and I’m super excited about it. It was also really exciting when Bethany Crandell, a San Diego local, recognized my name, and then the entire group of FIVE successful authors started asking me questions about “Chasing Shadows” and talking about how cool it sounded, and Bethany even wants to get together to discuss the book. *gasp* 80 Uh, okay? Um, YES! Liz, Katie, and I were all in heaven the entire time, and it was so cool for all of us to chat with ladies in the business. That will go down as a highlight of 2014.

Oh! And for you San Diego natives, you might be seeing “Chasing Shadows” at your local library very soon. That’s right. I’m working right now (today, actually) on getting it into circulation. EEEE! I’d love all your prayers and support for this to work out, because it would be amazing to have it available to the general public and kids who can’t afford to purchase their own copies. Been there, and the library saved my life from becoming book-less. ^_^

The next 7 days are going to be an awesome immersion into the world of books and authoring. My schedule this week is actually pretty exciting and eventful, so don’t forget to put all these awesome shenanigans down on your calendars and leave clever little Post-It reminders everywhere, because there’s a lot to keep track of. And I hope you’ll all want to join me for each of these super cool extravaganzas! All of the links and the info to participate in these events are at the bottom of the page. Don’t forget to share these events and dates with anyone who loves book-y goodness as much as me!

October 15th-21st (Wednesday-the following Tuesday)

Double Decker Books Blog Tour with “Chasing Shadows”

Okay, so tomorrow we kick off the Chasing Shadows Blog Tour at Double Decker Books. I. Am. Excited! Although I’ve participated in blog hops and tours before, I’ve never been the featured author being HOSTED on someone else’s blog. *giddy dance of pure joy* Here’s how it works: Tomorrow, Wednesday the 15th, “Chasing Shadows” and my interview will be up on one of my favorite blogs of all time, Double Decker Books. The tour kicks off from there, and I’ll be hopping around a few other blogs during the book’s gallivanting escapades. DDB will tell you where to go from there, and so on. So be sure to follow their blog and the book as it travels Around the Web in 6 Days! ^_~

October 18th 1-3pm west coast time (Saturday)

Chasing Shadows Twitter Release Party

And THEN we have the “Chasing Shadows” Twitter Release Party going down this Saturday. Please join us for fun, discussions about “Chasing Shadows,” and my sure to be hilariously awkward Q&A time with DDB. Just follow and tag @TownsendTales and @Doubled_Books during the Twitter Release Party if you want to ask me your own questions. They can be serious, quirky, ridiculous, hilarious, about writing, life as a person with multiple voices in their head, my fascination with time travel, riddles, etc., and also my obsession with the word etcetera.

October 19th at 2pm (Sunday)

2014 Gold Rush YA Author Event at Barnes&Noble

There’s also an event I will be attending that I am super jazzed about. Barnes&Noble is hosting Livia Blackburne, Bethany Crandell, Stephanie Diaz, Maria Andreu and Tracy Holczer this Sunday for giveaways, fun stuff, and interviews with the authors themselves. I won’t be one of the authors speaking at this meet-and-greet, but I’m excited to just be a part of it! If you’re going to be in San Diego this weekend and decide to drop by, I’ll be the curly-haired blond with the pocket watch and starry-eyed gaze.

Barnes and Noble on 5500 Grossmont Ctr Dr Suite 331 La Mesa, CA 91942

So, there it is. Quite the week, isn’t it? I hope that you’ll be able to join us for everything, and don’t forget to keep checking back here for my Serimone update of the week, Between the Pages. Hint: This week might have to do with a certain gorgeous, enigmatic, endearing blacksmith from “Chasing Shadows.” Which means you WANT to be here this Friday. Trust me on this one.
