The next 7 days are going to be an awesome immersion into the world of books and authoring. My schedule this week is actually pretty exciting and eventful, so don’t forget to put all these awesome shenanigans down on your calendars and leave clever little Post-It reminders everywhere, because there’s a lot to keep track of. Double Decker Books Blog Tour with “Chasing Shadows”

Okay, so tomorrow we kick off the Chasing Shadows Blog Tour at Double Decker Books. I. Am. Excited! Although I’ve participated in blog hops and tours before, I’ve never been the featured author being HOSTED on someone else’s blog. *giddy dance of pure joy* Here’s how it works: Tomorrow, Wednesday the 15th, “Chasing Shadows” and my interview will be up on one of my favorite blogs of all time, Double Decker Books. The tour kicks off from there, and I’ll be hopping around a few other blogs during the book’s gallivanting escapades. DDB will tell you where to go from there, and so on. So be sure to follow their blog and the book as it travels Around the Web in 6 Days! ^_~

Chasing Shadows Twitter Release Party

And THEN we have the “Chasing Shadows” Twitter Release Party going down this Saturday. Please join us for fun, discussions about “Chasing Shadows,” and my sure to be hilariously awkward Q&A time with DDB. Just follow and tag @TownsendTales and @Doubled_Books during the Twitter Release Party if you want to ask me your own questions. They can be serious, quirky, ridiculous, hilarious, about writing, life as a person with multiple voices in their head, my fascination with time travel, riddles, etc., and also my obsession with the word etcetera.

2014 Gold Rush YA Author Event at Barnes&Noble

There’s also an event I will be attending that I am super jazzed about. Barnes&Noble is hosting Livia Blackburne, Bethany Crandell, Stephanie Diaz, Maria Andreu and Tracy Holczer this Sunday for giveaways, fun stuff, and interviews with the authors themselves. I won’t be one of the authors speaking at this meet-and-greet, but I’m excited to just be a part of it! If you’re going to be in San Diego this weekend and decide to drop by, I’ll be the curly-haired blond with the pocket watch and starry-eyed gaze.

I’ve hosted authors on my own blog, but I’ve never been FEATURED in a tour! *squeal of excitement that shatters glass*

THE PAPERBACK IS OUT!!!

I just checked on Amazon, and the paperback copy of “Chasing Shadows” is alive. It’s ali-hi-hiiiive!!!

No, my dear reader, you are not…. Actually, I don’t know you personally, so I can’t say for certain. At first I thought I was seeing things, too, because certainly it was too good to be true. But, no, THE PAPERBACK EXISTS!!!!

This is the moment I have been waiting for, anticipating, longing after since I turned eight: To see my characters come alive on REAL pages! After years of plotting and planning and writing and ranting, I can now rest and die happy. Sleeeeep!

Actually, no, I’ll just take more coffee and keep at the keyboard. No rest for writers! 😉

For awhile, I felt kind of like this little mouse with the cat watching it, desperately trying to make it happen for years and looking ridiculous doing it, with self-doubt leering over my shoulder the entire time. *small squeaky mouse voice* Faster, faster, FASTER!!!

Well, ha-ha! No more my furry little friends. This go-around, we actually get to touch the crisp texture of new paper as it turns to reveal a new page, smell the freshly pressed ink, gaze longingly at the gorgeous cover that Roan Carter lovingly–and patiently–bestowed upon this sequel. Boo-ya, literary world! I’m here whether you want me or not.

…. But I’d really rather stay, so I’ll tone it down. I promise. Eh, who am I kidding?

I was so excited that I kept doing this to random people, and it was freaking them out. Huh. People are so anti-social.

My sister DeAnna and I are going to take a copy on vacation at the end of this month and turn her Instagram into a silly palooza of “Chasing Shadows.” Basically, we’re going to do weird things like have the paperback sip a cup of coffee, wear a silly mustache disguise, use toilet stalls, hide in bushes and jump out to scare passerby. It’s going to be friggin’ awesome! I’ll give you the details for her account soon so you can follow all the wackiness that is our lives. Best selfies ever! Although, it will be of the book, so it’s not technically a selfie. . . I don’t think.
