So, yes, I finished a massive round of edits for Defying Shadows this past weekend (celebration, fanfare, dancing in the streets, explosions!). And, yes, that IS another copy of the full manuscript you see there. No, you aren’t seeing double: 40% of an author’s time is spent plotting and writing, the other 84% (I’m not a mathematician!!!) is spent editing and pulling hair out from one’s head. If I didn’t love this story so much, it might be a drudge. But I DOOO love it! ^_^ I’ve never truly been satisfied once a book was complete, and maybe I’ll hate it as soon as it goes to print *sigh*, but I can’t wait to hold this story in my hands more “officially” in just a few short months!
Oh, and another fun surprise for you–and myself! That little teensy tiny, itty bitty manuscript you see to the left of Defying Shadows? Yep, I’m going over Rising Shadows because–dun dun duh duuuhh!–Ink Smith got the rights to print it in paperback. That means that the ENTIRE Rising Shadows Trilogy will be in print come this July. *screams* *flails* I. Know! I’m a little jazzed about it. 😁 And I’ll be able to take all three of my little younglings to Realm Makers in July, which is going to be a spectacular even with all my author friends!
Anywho, now that I’ve shared my awesome news, I have to scoot to go meet with the designer who is reworking the cover for Rising Shadows. Because, you know, it’ll be in print soon and needs a sprucing up. Eeeeeeee!
Eeek, that’s awesome! Yay! ^_^
