I found Cassie of Novels and Necklaces (check out their review blog here!) through Goodreads and asked her to join my Team of Shadows to beta read Defying Shadows. I can’t tell you how glad I am to have contacted her! Cassie has been incredibly loyal to this series and enjoyed Rising Shadows and Chasing Shadows, but hearing how she had fallen in love with these characters and their stories, how she cried and laughed and clenched her heart in sorrow for their joys and losses, absolutely warmed my heart. It’s reviews like these—where a reader expresses the same knowledge of and feeling for your characters as you do—that make every sleepless night and hours of caffein abuse and emotional torment worth it (every author understands the truth in that statement!).
