Local Author Visits Serra High… That’s Me!!!

Published June 11, 2015 by Ashley Townsend

About two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of visiting Serra High School for the second time to speak with students and talk about the Rising Shadows Trilogy and my writing journey in general. It was incredible to get to know these special kids and encourage them in their own dreams. Even better was getting to meet, one-on-one, an actual fan of the series. Tabby and I got to spend an entire period together, and her copy of Chasing Shadows was covered in post-its–questions she wanted to ask me and little remarks or fangirling comments she had on a particular scene. It was awesome! Tabby is hilarious, totally nerds out and fangirls like me, and absolutely loves these characters. Her questions and reactions were exactly what I was hoping for when I wrote the book! I even laminated all of her post-it comments (Will= Bruce Wayne, Shadow= Batman–hilarious!).

They just posted an article about my visits to the library on the school website that I discovered today, and it was just a nice reminder of an awesome experience.
