It’s finally happening! “Chasing Shadows” is being released this year. . . . In PAPERBACK! That’s right people: my precious sequel to “Rising Shadows” (and my favorite overall storyline of the trilogy to write and read) is coming out in September of this year in ebook AND physical formats. Can you smell the enthusiasm? I am already envisioning that moment when I get to hold and sniff and—yes—more than likely lick it. But, hey, I’ve waited for what feels like forever to hold my precious in my hands. I might even strap it in a car seat, pop it in a perambulator, and take it for a stroll around the park, laughing all the way. . . . You think I’m joking. -_- When I unwrap my arc copies, I’m going to be like this old lady and go all “My precious!” on them.
A long, long time was spent holding out for a physical publisher, one that was interested in taking a leap with a fresh young author with great ambitions but not a ton of experience in the field. But I’m so happy I did! Ink Smith is like a dream to work with; they want this story out as quickly as I do, are willing to work with me on whatever I need, and they love to promote authors who are passionate about sharing the written word. It’s taken a lot of faith and a plenty of toads to find my “prince” in publishing, but it was well worth the wait. You’ll feel the same way when “Chasing Shadows” comes out, and trust me when I say that you do not want to miss this one: Will and Sarah get torn apart, the corrupt Cadius at last enters the picture (so evil!), death at every corner, another ball *cue girlish shrieks*, repercussions of time travel, Karen finds romance, and a handsome Spaniard named Damien who provides a shoulder for Sarah to lean on, and who I guarantee will steal your heart. Ack! I’m practically salivating just thinking about it. When I get the official release date, be sure to mark it on your calendars, because you do not want to miss this one.
Pretty soon I’ll be releasing the “Chasing Shadows” playlist, artwork, sample chapters, character profiles, and interviews I do in town and on the web on a special page just for this newest installment in the trilogy. Below, be sure to check out the summary for the book on Ink Smith’s site, then “like,” Pin, Tweet, reblog—whatever you can do to help! I so appreciate you guys sticking with me for the long haul, and I know it will be worth it when the book comes out in September.
