I woke up this morning to a dreary day and dew on my roses. In case you’re wondering, I’m basically like a vampire with my thirst for misty days, though I do enjoy the sun from time to time, as well. My solar-powered sisters tend to stay indoors when the clouds come out, but that is when I take to prowling the night. Okay, so it’s more like morning and I just went outside to check on my garden, but still. 

Anyway, my love for dreary days reminded me of some other things that make me smile. Liiiiiiike:

The fact that I went out to the garden to bring my dog Tawney in this morning, only to discover that SHE had apparently unearthed a gopher hole in the currently muddy playground that is our backyard. I’m pretty sure she had a momentary lapse of judgement and dove head-first into the hole, thinking she was an Ostrich. My usually white lump of fur looked like she’d been fingerprinted and processed. And like any lady, she promptly dipped her paws in a puddle of rainwater to clean them . . . before running back out into the mud. Ah, my crazy kid never ceases to make me chuckle!

A stack of books and a mug-O-Jo on a rainy day beside a roaring fire. *sigh* It was a little dreary yesterday, so my mom and I made a fire, and everyone curled up in the living room with cups of coffee and books and an old Cary Grant film. Perfection!

Oh, yeah, and the full length Hunger Games: Catching Fire trailer. WAAAAAHHHH! My sister Liz found it this morning, and I think I’ve watched it four times already. This gave me both smiles and heart palpitations of excitement. Enjoy!
